Tilda does not have a built-in tool for adding languages — everything is solved through third-party services or manually. Let's look at three methods and what each entails.
If you need a step-by-step guide to building a multilingual structure from scratch — from language versions to a menu switcher and SEO — see the guide "How to Make a Tilda Website in Two Languages".
Method 1: Google Translate Widget
The fastest way is to add the Google Translate widget via a code block in Tilda. One script, and a language switching button appears on the site.
This works if the task is to show the site to an already arrived user. But translation via the widget does not create separate pages that Google will index as a German or English version. These versions will not appear in search results.
Method 2: Proxy Translation (Multify and similar services)
A proxy service connects to the domain and creates separate URLs for each language version: site.ru, en.site.ru, de.site.ru. Translation happens automatically, and language pages are indexed by search engines.
When the site in the main language changes, translations are updated automatically. The language switcher is generated automatically.
This is the fastest way to get full-fledged language versions in search without manual work. Setup takes one day.
Method 3: manual language versions
Create a separate Tilda project for each language — or separate pages within one project. Full control over the translation of each element.
Disadvantage: manual synchronization. Every change in the Russian version must be repeated in the English, German, and all other versions. The more languages and the more frequently content is updated, the greater the operational load.
What to Choose
For most businesses that want to attract customers from other countries through search, proxy translation with automatic synchronization solves the problem with minimal costs.
